The new Somali Police Commissioner Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud and Bashir Mohamed Jamaa were sworn in on Saturday.
The swearing ceremony was witnessed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and among other senior government officials in his cabinet including minister for internal security.
President Mohamud congratulated the new commanders and urged to take new steps to improve security in the country.
He called upon them to come up with new security measures to deal with what he described as changes faces of terror in the country.
Among the first challenges facing the new Somali Police Commissioner is to deal with the increasing killings in the capital Mogadishu by unknown assailants.
