The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in partnership with the Al-Mahasin Foundation, officially launched the 2026 Zakatul Fitr distribution project today in the Banaadir region, as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the most vulnerable communities.

The initiative is expected to reach nearly 80,000 people, including low-income families and internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in camps across the region. Special attention will be given to vulnerable groups such as orphans, female-headed households, and those with limited income.

The project comes at a critical time, as Somalia faces a new wave of drought and displacement, coupled with worsening food insecurity. The program aims to provide timely support to vulnerable communities during the holy month of Ramadan.

Representatives from Al-Mahasin Foundation expressed their satisfaction with the humanitarian partnership, emphasizing that the project will be implemented efficiently and transparently. Coordination with local authorities and community committees will ensure that aid reaches the beneficiaries at the right time.
