The UK Embassy in Somalia has welcomed the recent meeting in Mogadishu between the Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Member States, but expressed disappointment that no agreement was reached.
In a statement, the embassy described the talks as an important step toward dialogue, saying it was “disappointing that consensus has not yet been achieved.”
The United Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts to resolve the ongoing political disagreements, working closely with international partners. The embassy urged Somali leaders to show flexibility and continue negotiations to reach a sustainable and lasting solution.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to address political disputes between the federal government and regional states, particularly over elections and governance issues.
