The District Commissioner of Doolow, Mohamed Hussein Cabdi Lafeey, held a welcome and consultative meeting with the Jubbaland Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and the Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources during their official visit to the district.

The ministers, representing the Government of Jubbaland, traveled to Doolow to assess the ongoing drought conditions affecting communities in areas under the district’s administration. The visit also included inspections of ongoing development projects aimed at improving basic services and infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by key local and regional officials, including the Airport Manager, the Chairman of Geedweyne, the Gedo Regional Coordinator of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the Jubbaland Ministry of Environment Coordinator for Gedo region, the Director of Protocol at the Office of the Jubbaland Vice President, and the Second Deputy Commissioner of Doolow District.

Officials emphasized the importance of coordinated humanitarian response and sustainable development initiatives to address the impact of drought and strengthen resilience among affected communities.
