Somalia’s Minister of Health and Social Care, Dr Ali Haji Adam Abubakar, on Monday attended the opening of the 158th session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board in Geneva, Switzerland.

The meeting, which is held annually, serves as a key global platform for setting health policies, priorities, and strategic direction for the international health system.

Somalia is among the 34 countries serving on the WHO Executive Board, highlighting the country’s growing role and voice in global health decision-making.

The participation of the Somali delegation underscores the Federal Government of Somalia’s commitment to active leadership, cooperation, and the advancement of global health systems, while prioritizing the health needs of the Somali people.
