The Ministry of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia has officially dismissed recent rumors suggesting the presence of foreign troops undergoing training within Somalia.

In a formal statement released on Thursday, the Ministry categorically rejected these allegations, affirming that they are baseless and unfounded.

The Ministry emphasized that its primary objective is to strengthen the capacity of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF). This focus is part of a broader strategy to ensure the long-term security, stability, and sovereignty of Somalia.

The statement reiterated that efforts are being concentrated on enhancing the operational readiness and professional development of the SNAF to enable them to effectively address national security challenges.

Furthermore, the Ministry outlined its ongoing initiatives to advance the training of Somali military personnel, aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills and expertise to secure the country’s borders and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

 

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and national security, urging the public to disregard misleading information and reiterating that the government’s priority is to maintain the safety and security of the Somali people.
