Deputy Speaker of the Lower House Abdiweli Mudey has fired the House Secretary General Abdikarim Buhu for “interfering” with politics.

In a statement by Mudey  who said he had the powers to fire Buhu accused the official of being partisan.

“After it was discovered that you directly interfered with the current  political matters that is in contrary to the law of the government workers, and the availability of proofs that you are part of the existing conflicts, as you wrongly used the administrative power explained in section 11 in the jurisdiction of the parliament house which you were warned against it severally” the letter to Buhu said.

“Thus in reference to part one of section eight of the jurisdiction of the government that gives the vice chairman the power to fulfill all the roles of the chairperson when he fails to do himself on whatever reason” the letter said.

The sacking took effect from 2nd April 2018 only two days after President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo suspended the impeachment motion against the Speaker to ease the political tension.
Buhu has been replaced by the the Vice General Secretary Mohamed Abdullahi.

Despite the intervention by Farmaajo both the Pro Khaire and Pro Jawari camps seem to be readying for another round of political bouts.
