Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) have on Friday night preempted suspected armed group Alshabab attack in the capital Mogadishu.
According to ministry of Interior spokesman the security forces have succeeded in botching explosive attacks in the capital.
Abdikamil Malim Shukri said the security operations conducted in Yaqshid district recovered car full of explosive devices and several bullets.
“Security forces were tracking the militants and after they discovered they were being followed they tried to escape but we are following them,†he said.
Interior ministry spokesman Maalim Shukri added that cache of weapons was also recovered by the security agencies in another operation in Tokyo estate in Mogadishu.
Armed group Alshabaab have vowed to intensify attacks against the federal government of Somalia during the holy month of Ramadan.
