The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, Bashiir Mohamed Jama, held a meeting with the Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Somalia, Hameed Nuru.

The discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) and WFP. Key areas addressed included climate change adaptation, food security, displacement, and the impacts of climate-related shocks such as droughts, floods, and other natural disasters.

Both sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to protecting livelihoods, safeguarding the environment, and building long-term resilience for vulnerable communities across Somalia.
