The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), today officially received military equipment from the Ambassador of Turkey to Somalia. The equipment is designated for a unit of the Somali Police Force’s elite Harmacad division.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, the Director General of the Ministry of Internal Security, Yusuf Ali, and other senior officials.

The modern equipment, delivered during a ceremony held at the Harmacad base, is expected to enhance the unit’s operational capacity, training capabilities, and readiness. The Harmacad unit recently completed advanced training focused on strengthening security operations and counterterrorism skills.

Officials expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkey for its continued support to Somalia’s security institutions, noting that the equipment will play a significant role in improving national security and stability.
