The Commander of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, and a delegation he is leading on an official visit to Algeria, held a high-level meeting with the Director General of National Security of Algeria, Ali Badaoui.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in combating transnational organized crime, strengthening specialized training programs, and building the professional capacity of security forces in both countries.
Discussions also covered cooperation in tackling cybercrime, advancing forensic investigations through scientific and technological methods, and sharing expertise in modern policing techniques.
Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi emphasized the importance of international security partnerships in addressing evolving security threats, particularly crimes that cross borders and exploit digital platforms.
For his part, Director General Ali Badaoui reaffirmed Algeria’s readiness to deepen collaboration with Somalia’s security institutions, highlighting the value of experience-sharing and joint training initiatives in strengthening law enforcement effectiveness.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing commitment to expanding security cooperation and developing practical mechanisms to enhance intelligence-sharing, technical support, and institutional capacity building between the two countries.
