The Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Learning of the Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with the Banadir Regional Administration, has completed a major renovation of the Mohamuud Ahmed Ali Vocational School, located in the Kaaraan district of Mogadishu.

The reopening ceremony was attended by officials from the Ministry of Education, local government representatives from Banadir and Kaaraan, school teachers, students, and members of the community. The event celebrated the school’s upgraded facilities and renewed commitment to providing high-quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to Somali youth.

The state minister of Education, Ms. Nuro Mustafa, emphasized that the school’s rehabilitation is part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to strengthen vocational training across the country. “This project ensures that young Somalis acquire practical skills that will empower them to build sustainable livelihoods,” she said.

Ms. Mustafa urged the local community, particularly parents and youth, to fully take advantage of the educational opportunities offered by the school. She highlighted that producing a generation of skilled professionals is crucial to national development, economic growth, and reducing youth unemployment.

The upgraded vocational school now offers modern training facilities, improved classrooms, and practical workshops designed to equip students with the hands-on skills needed in various trades. The Ministry of Education also plans to expand similar initiatives across the country, emphasizing technical education as a cornerstone for empowering youth and fostering socio-economic progress.
