Ali Abdi Mohamed’s election reflects the confidence placed in his leadership, experience, and the increasingly active role played by the Somali Football Federation in promoting and developing football across the region.

He was elected to serve a four-year term as CECAFA Vice President, a role expected to strengthen cooperation among member associations and contribute to the advancement of football competitions, training programs, and governance structures in East and Central Africa.

Officials said the appointment marks a significant milestone for Somali football and highlights Somalia’s growing presence in regional and continental football administration.
