The Federal Republic of Somalia has expressed deep condolences to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan following a deadly explosion at a mosque in the Tarlai neighborhood of Islamabad during Friday prayers.

According to reports, the blast killed at least 31 people and injured 169 others, most of whom were civilians gathered at the place of worship.

In an official statement, the Somali government conveyed its heartfelt sympathies to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives in the attack and wished a swift recovery to all those injured.

Somalia strongly condemned the violent and terrorist act, emphasizing that attacks targeting civilians and places of worship are unacceptable and violate fundamental human and moral values.

The Federal Government of Somalia reaffirmed its full solidarity with Pakistan and its people, expressing support for Pakistan’s efforts to maintain peace, security, and social harmony in the face of such acts of violence.

The statement further noted that Somalia shares in Pakistan’s pain and sorrow over the tragedy and reiterated its commitment to international cooperation in the global fight against terrorism.
