The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Moallin Mahmoud, today received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Wang Yu, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu.
The meeting focused on several key issues, including China’s continued support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, cooperation in justice sector reform, and efforts to build the capacity of the country’s judicial and legal institutions.
Ambassador Wang Yu reaffirmed China’s firm and consistent support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia. He also highlighted China’s longstanding commitment to standing alongside Somalia in its reconstruction efforts and in promoting economic development, noting that China remains a reliable partner in Somalia’s recovery and progress.
For his part, Minister Hassan Moallin Mahmoud expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government of China for its continued support and solidarity with Somalia. He emphasized that the Federal Government of Somalia is fully committed to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing political trust, and expanding cooperation between the two countries across various sectors.
The Minister further underscored Somalia’s readiness to deepen the longstanding friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China, in order to advance shared interests and contribute to sustainable development, institutional reform, and long-term stability in Somalia.
