The State Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdulkadir, together with the General Manager of Mogadishu Port, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Noor (Ameeriko), today welcomed a high-level delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, Durmuş Ünüvar, upon their arrival at the Port of Mogadishu.

The Turkish delegation, which included the Ambassador of Türkiye to Somalia and other senior officials, conducted an inspection tour of various sections of Mogadishu Port. During the visit, the delegation observed ongoing operations and assessed the efficiency and progress of activities at the capital’s main port.

The visit reflects the strong and longstanding partnership between Somalia and Türkiye, particularly in the development and management of key infrastructure sectors. Mogadishu Port remains a critical economic hub for the country, supporting trade, revenue generation, and national development.

During their stay in Mogadishu, the delegation is scheduled to hold official meetings with senior leadership of Somalia’s Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding joint initiatives related to maritime transport, port development, and broader economic infrastructure.

Both sides are expected to explore opportunities to further enhance collaboration, exchange technical expertise, and support sustainable development initiatives that contribute to Somalia’s economic growth and regional connectivity.
