The Governor of Banadir and the Mayor of Mogadishu, HE Yusuf Hussein Jim’ale (Madale), joined together in a momentous event on Tuesday as they cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the much-anticipated Via Liberia road in Waberi district.

The completion of this road, which embodies the principle of ‘building your country with a dollar,’ represents a significant step towards the enhancement of Mogadishu’s infrastructure.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed officials from the Banadir Municipality and representatives from the local police force, highlighting the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders in achieving the city’s development goals.

During the ceremony, Mayor Madale delivered an impassioned speech, urging the community of Mogadishu to actively participate in the beautification of the capital and contribute their hard-earned money towards the nation-building process.

In line with the ideology of ‘build your country with a dollar,’ Mayor Madale emphasized the importance of individual and collective responsibility in transforming Mogadishu into a thriving and aesthetically pleasing city.

The new road is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance the overall mobility for both residents and businesses in the Waberi district.

The construction of the Via Liberia road adhered to the highest quality standards, utilizing modern engineering techniques and materials.

The road, designed to withstand heavy traffic, features wide lanes, well-defined pedestrian walkways, and adequate lighting, ensuring the safety and convenience of all road users.

Governor Jim’ale expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Mogadishu for their patience and support throughout the construction process.
