Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has confirmed to visiting UN security council members that elections will go ahead as planned and there is no delay strategy.

Speaking during a meeting with the members in Mogadishu on Thursday President Mohamud retarieted that the elections in his country will be held on August as agreed before.

He said there is no enough time but confident that the parliament will pass crucial bills for the historic elections to be held on stipulated time.

15 diplomats from the members of the UN security council are in Mogadishu to assess the development made towards elections by the recuperating state and show moral support to the federal government fighting armed group Alshabaab.

The members have welcomed the security,economic and democratic development made by Mogadishu.

The meeting was also attended by regional state leaders across the federal state.
