The President of the federal republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has toured Somali National Army in the frontline on Monday.

The President accompanied by defense minister Abdulkadir Ali Dini, Army chief and other senior security officials visited National Army military base in lower Shabelle.

Dressed in military fatigue, Sheikh Mohamud urged the soldiers to respect the human rights while on duty during security operation saying the government and people of Somalia will not forget the role they are playing in returning of peace and order in the country.

The President said the government will look into the welfare of the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in battle field.

He called upon the military chief to promote the soldiers to encourage and appreciate their hard work in national duty.
