Hundreds of Kenyan residents have rallied at a state sponsored protest in the capital Nairobi to condemn recent Al-shabab attack on Gaarisa University premises, which killed at least 147-people on Thursday.

The protest, which blocked off main Nairobi streets, was staged a two day after Al-shabab massacred innocent students inside a University campus in Kenya’s north eastern town of Gaarisa.

Residents were chanting anti Al-shabab slogans and expressed their strongest anger towards latest Al-shababa attack, despite police has been firing teargas to disperse gathered crowds, officials said.

No casualties have been reported. Kenya’s interior minister Joseph Kaiser on Saturday said that five people have been arrested for allegedly taking part in the attack.
