Italian coast guards have rescued more than 900 African immigrants in the Mediterranean Sea and trying to reach Europe via Italy.

According to Guarding newspaper ten immigrants lost their lives in the process before Italian coast guard reached the immigrants who were 50 miles near Libyan coast.

The Italian navy have for past years rescued thousands of immigrants mainly from Africa along Mediterranean Sea trying to reach Europe via Lampedusa Island.

Hundreds of immigrants fleeing conflict in their war ravaged countries such as Somalia, Syria, Iraq and Palestine have lost their lives in the sea while trying to reach Europe for better living standard.
