A Kenyan national identified as Osman Mohamed has been detained for 8 days at a jail in BeledHawo in Somalia’s Gedo region following a quarrel he had with the region’s spy chief.
The man from Mandera in North Eastern Kenya is said to have crossed over into Somalia’s Beledhawo town for a planned meeting with the woman only to be arrested by the orders of the head of Gedi region.
According to a source, both Mohamed and the spy chief had both proposed for the hand of the woman.
The woman in the centre of the drama is said to be the daughter of a Mayor of a town in Gedo region.
Mohamed was released on Sunday afternoon after clan elders’ intervention.
