A group of women-only demonstrators protested in Mogadishu today, strongly condemning Israel’s recent recognition of Somaliland.

The protesters warned that the move threatens Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, principles the country has upheld since independence. They urged the international community to reject any actions that could destabilize the Horn of Africa.

Somalia maintains that Somaliland remains an integral part of its territory and considers external recognition a direct challenge to African Union–recognized borders.

The demonstration reflects growing public concern over regional geopolitical developments and their potential impact on Somalia’s unity.
