The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), has held his first official meeting with the newly appointed Director General of the ministry, Mr. Abdulqadir Ali, to discuss key administrative priorities and future plans.

The meeting focused on the overall management and operational responsibilities of the ministry, its strategic direction, and planning for the future, with particular emphasis on the ministry’s priorities for the year 2026. Officials said the discussions were aimed at aligning leadership vision with institutional goals to enhance service delivery and governance.

During the meeting, the minister and the director general underscored the importance of strengthening priority areas, including national reconciliation efforts, the advancement of federal affairs, support for stabilization initiatives, and improving the efficiency, transparency, and performance of the ministry’s institutions.

Minister Ali Yusuf Ali highlighted the need for close cooperation, strong coordination, and continuous accountability between the political and administrative leadership of the ministry. He stressed that effective teamwork is essential for achieving the ministry’s objectives and delivering meaningful services to the Somali public.

The meeting marks the beginning of a new phase of collaboration between the minister and the director general, as the Ministry of Interior seeks to play a central role in promoting reconciliation, federal cohesion, institutional reform, and sustainable stability across the country.

Officials said further consultations and internal reforms are expected as part of the ministry’s broader agenda to strengthen governance, enhance public trust, and support Somalia’s state-building process.
