The Government of Kuwait has strongly condemned the interference by Israel in the affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia, describing the move as a clear violation of international law and a direct infringement on Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

This position was articulated in a statement delivered by the Kuwaiti delegation during an emergency session of the United Nations, convened to address the implications of Israel’s actions. Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Federal Republic of Somalia and underscored its firm support for the country’s sovereignty, territorial unity, and national integrity.

Kuwait stressed that any unilateral action or recognition targeting the territory of a United Nations member state is illegal and runs counter to the UN Charter and the core principles governing international relations, particularly respect for borders and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.

The Kuwaiti delegation further called on the international community to adopt a responsible and principled stance in upholding international law and safeguarding Somalia’s unity and stability. It warned that such actions risk undermining peace and security in the Horn of Africa and could fuel further regional tensions.

In conclusion, Kuwait reiterated its longstanding commitment to supporting Somalia, emphasizing its readiness to stand by the Somali government and people in their diplomatic and legal efforts to defend the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and overall regional stability.
