The Governor of Banaadir and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hasan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), welcomed the Prime Minister to Kaaraan, noting that the district’s residents are ready to exercise their right to vote.

In his address, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre focused on the importance of the elections, the need to ensure security, and the role of citizens in shaping their future. He emphasized that Somali citizens are reclaiming their constitutional rights by directly choosing their leaders.

The Prime Minister praised the people of Kaaraan for demonstrating their commitment to the electoral process and encouraged all residents to participate actively. “We will end what was known as indirect elections, where a few decide the fate of the Somali people,” he stated.
