The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdi Hayir (Maareeye), and the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Prof. Salim Aliyow Ibroow, today conducted an official visit to Howl-Wadaag District in Mogadishu.
The ministers and their accompanying delegations were warmly received by the District Commissioner of Howl-Wadaag, Mr. Bashir Abdi Mohamed, along with district officials. A key community meeting was held during the visit, where residents, particularly youth, were addressed on issues of civic engagement and public participation.
During the meeting, the ministers encouraged young people to obtain voter registration cards, emphasizing that the future development and decision-making processes of the district depend directly on citizens’ participation and the effective use of their right to vote.
The ministers also highlighted ongoing efforts to simplify the procedures for obtaining citizen identification and voter cards, ensuring that the public can easily access essential services and take part in a transparent and inclusive electoral process.
The visit forms part of the Federal Government of Somalia’s broader efforts to strengthen community engagement, raise public awareness, and implement fair governance systems that place citizens at the center of decision-making.
