Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Daud Aweis Jama, participated in an awards ceremony honoring various sectors of the Libyan media industry, held in the capital, Tripoli.

The event, known as Tripoli Media Days, brought together Ministers of Information from member states of the Arab League, along with diplomats and other distinguished guests. The ceremony recognized journalists for their contributions to Libya’s recovery and reconstruction after several challenging years.

Speaking at the event, Minister Daud Aweis expressed Somalia’s satisfaction with Libya’s progress and ongoing stabilization efforts, wishing the country continued development and lasting peace. He also emphasized the strong historical relations between Somalia and Libya, underscoring Somalia’s interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The Minister noted that this commitment was reaffirmed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s official visit to Libya in February 2025, which signaled renewed momentum in diplomatic and developmental partnership between the two nations.
