Somaliland’s Minister of Planning and National Development, accompanied by the Director General, today received the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Representative, Dr. Mary Otieno, at her office in Hargeisa.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between UNFPA and the Ministry, particularly in areas related to data collection, statistics, population development, research, and capacity building and training in statistical methods.
The Minister and Director General welcomed the UNFPA delegation and expressed appreciation for the ongoing collaboration, which is reflected in the projects supported by the agency.
Dr. Mary Otieno thanked the Ministry for the warm reception and emphasized UNFPA’s commitment to continue strengthening the partnership, especially in development initiatives related to data and statistical capacity.
