The Belgian capital Brussels on Wednesday hosted the Security High Level Meeting  to set pace for the total take over of security by Somalia government  after  Amisom exit.

Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Khaire, The EU, United Nations , Amisom, African Union were represented in the in the meeting chaired by European Foreign And Security Policy Service.

Amisom contributing countries of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi and Sierra Leone are represented in the meeting.

Khaire had earlier met with the High Representative/Vice President of EU Federica Mogherini.

“The High representative/Vice President Federica Mogherini highlighted the link between the implementation of Somalia  transition plan for security  the implementation of economic reforms and political roadmap towards elections in 2020” a statement from the EU said.

“They stressed the European Union´s critical role as the main parner in support of country´s transition.They noted that while high challenges remained some ecnouraging progress had been made and should be maintained” the statement said

A communique is expected to be released at the end of the meeting day.
