A high ranking Jubbaland Regional Army officer has been arrested after he shot dead his pregnant wife following an argument.

The wife identified as Muhubo Mohamed Gurre was shot several times on Friday and died at her house in the Jubbaland administrative capital Kismayu.
“We are saddened by the killing as a family and we demand justice†Gurre Ulaye told Radio Dalsan in a telephone interview.
The soldier reportedly served in the regional presidential guard.

Muhubo and her husband had been married for three months and was expectant.
