Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Information, Awareness, Culture, Tourism, Postal Services, and Communications carried out an oversight visit to the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism as part of their constitutional mandate to monitor and ensure accountability in government operations.
During the visit, the committee met with Minister Da’uud Aweys Jaama and Deputy Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Sheikh Al-Adaala, receiving briefings on the ministry’s ongoing initiatives and operational priorities. The committee also inspected various departments, including the National Archive at Radio Mogadishu, the Somali National Television studios, and Radio Mogadishu, to evaluate the performance and delivery of media services.
Minister Aweys highlighted the ministry’s efforts to deliver accurate news to the public, conduct continuous awareness campaigns, and promote the work of national artists. He further emphasized the ongoing modernization of Radio Mogadishu and Somali National Television to enhance service delivery and outreach.
At the conclusion of the visit, Committee Chair Mowliid Abdi Mohamuud thanked the Minister, Deputy Minister, departmental directors, and all ministry staff for their cooperation and dedication to advancing the country’s media, cultural, and tourism sectors.
