The Ministry of Health and Social Care of Jubbaland has launched a training program in Kismayo focused on emergency reproductive health services, aimed at improving the knowledge and quality of care provided to pregnant women and newborns.
The program was officially inaugurated by the Acting Director of the Family Health Department, Dr. Mu’ad Dek Salad. Among those in attendance were the Head of Reproductive Health, Mrs. Najmo Abdiqadir; Director of Emergency Health Services, Dr. Mohamed Shaiye; Lower Jubada Regional Health Coordinator, Abdirisaaq Jaamuus; and other senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
Scheduled to run for four days, the training emphasizes maternal healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as newborn care, with the goal of reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.
Officials stressed that this training is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen family health services and enhance the quality and reach of healthcare across the region.
