Relatives confirmed that the late artist had recently returned from Europe, where he had been residing. On Monday morning, he was involved in a fatal road accident in Hargeisa that claimed his life.
Safwan Halac was widely admired for his powerful voice and lyrical talent. He rose to fame performing love songs, both solo and in collaboration with other Somali artists, earning a devoted fan base across Somali-speaking communities at home and abroad.
