Somalia has finalised a landmark agreement to acquire up to 24 JF-17 Thunder Block III aircraft from Pakistan in a deal worth approximately $900 million, marking the country’s largest military procurement in decades as it moves to rebuild its air force and enhance regional air defence capabilities.
Pakistan and Somalia agreed in Islamabad to deepen cooperation on internal security, counterterrorism training, border control and disaster management, while easing Pakistani visas for Somali patients and students.
