Gunmen have shot and killed the son of a poplar Somali artist and film maker Mohamed Abdullahi Isse, famously known as Sangub in US city of Minneapolis.
Sangub confirmed the death of his 24-year-old son Alamagan to Radio Dalsan during a phone interview without giving further details.
It is not immediately clear the motive behind the shooting but police said they believe the killing was not a random incident.
Sangub was expelled from US years ago after producing the controversial Somali movie Qabyo based on how US laws give more power to women in household issues over their husbands.
Minneapolis hosts the largest Somali diaspora community residing in America.
