Jubbaland Ministry of Health holds community meeting on sanitation and hygiene in Luglow, Kismayo
The Ministry of Health of Jubbaland recently held a community consultation meeting on sanitation and hygiene in the Luglow area, northern Kismayo, as part of ongoing efforts to improve public health in the region over the past few weeks.
The meeting aimed to engage local residents in collectively forming committees and arranging transport for waste collection, while developing a coordinated plan to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the area. Participants reached an agreement to work together to implement these important initiatives.
Key attendees included Mr. Abshir Yusuf, Director of the Public Health Department, the Heads of Hygiene and Sanitation, Public Awareness Coordinators, the Health Coordinator for Lower Juba, the Primary Health Officer of Kismayo District, and local leaders and committees from Luglow.
The initiative highlights the importance of community participation in public health, emphasizing that sustainable hygiene and sanitation practices are most effective when residents actively collaborate in planning and implementing them.
