Somalia’s ICT minister meets telecom executives to boost service quality and drive digital growth
Somalia’s Minister of Communications and Technology, Mohamed Adan Maalin, held a high-level meeting with senior executives from the country’s major telecommunications companies to deliberate on strategies to enhance service delivery and accelerate Somalia’s digital transformation.
The discussions, attended by the Ministry’s Director-General and top industry officials, focused on improving the quality of telecommunications services, addressing operational challenges, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the fast-evolving ICT sector.
Minister Maalin reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to modernising the country’s communication infrastructure and ensuring that digital services are accessible, efficient, and reliable for all citizens.
He noted that strengthening the ICT sector is vital to economic growth, innovation, and national development.
The minister also commended telecom companies for their contribution to expanding connectivity across Somalia, urging them to maintain high standards and partner closely with the government in promoting technological advancement.
In response, industry representatives welcomed the Ministry’s reform agenda and pledged to continue working with the government in building a competitive, secure, and inclusive digital economy.
