Somali Police Force marks 82nd anniversary
Somali Police Force celebrates 82 years of protecting lives and property.
The Somali Police Force, established on 20 December 1943, celebrates 82 years of service today. Leaders of the Federal Government and the police command have extended their congratulations to officers and personnel across the force.
A commemorative event is scheduled in Mogadishu, with participation from government officials, police leadership, former officers, and other dignitaries.
In the past days, preparations have been underway in the capital for the anniversary celebrations. During the event, police personnel will showcase their capabilities, equipment, weapons, and the force’s unique history.
The Somali Police consist of different specialized units, and commanders highlight that in recent years, the force has undergone significant improvements in personnel, facilities, and operational equipment to better serve the public.
