Deputy Speaker Abshirow leads standing committee’s weekly agenda meeting
The Second Deputy Speaker of Somalia’s House of the People, Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, presided over the Standing Committee’s weekly meeting, where members reviewed ongoing legislative work and approved next week’s parliamentary agenda. He called on all committees to strengthen their efforts in advancing pending bills.
The Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, today chaired the weekly meeting of the Standing Committee, held as part of the 7th Session in its 13th regular sitting.
The meeting focused on setting the agenda and scheduling next week’s plenary sessions. Committee chairpersons presented progress reports on the legislation currently under their review, outstanding procedural steps, and timelines for submitting finalized bills to the full House.
At the conclusion of the session, members of the Standing Committee approved the agenda for next week’s general meetings. Deputy Speaker Abshirow, who closed the meeting, urged all committees to accelerate their work and give priority to the pending legislation before them.
