Somalia signs MoU with the International Parliament for Peace and Reconciliation.
Somalia’s House of the People has formally joined the International Parliament for Peace and Reconciliation, following a meeting between Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nuur and IPPR Chairman Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Jarwaan, culminating in the signing of a cooperation MoU.
The Speaker of the House of the People of Somalia, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), today met with Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Jarwaan, Chairman of the International Parliament for Peace and Reconciliation (IPPR), at his office in Mogadishu. The meeting was attended by Senators from the Upper House of Parliament.
During the meeting, Al-Jarwaan expressed his gratitude to the Speaker for the invitation to Somalia and briefed him on the work of the IPPR. In response, Speaker Sheikh Aadan Maxamed Nuur warmly welcomed the delegation, highlighting Somalia’s commitment to engaging with the international parliamentary body and sharing progress made by the 11th Somali Parliament in passing key legislation to strengthen governance and nation-building.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalizing Somalia’s membership in the International Parliament for Peace and Reconciliation and outlining cooperation between the two parliaments.
