Acting President and Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), on Tuesday received a high-level delegation from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) for talks aimed at strengthening cooperation in education and research.

The delegation, led by ALECSO Director-General Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, met with the Speaker at his office in Mogadishu. The meeting was also attended by Education Minister Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir, Social Services Committee Chair MP Nadra Salah Abdi, and House of the People Secretary-General Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle (Jaabiri).

Discussions centered on expanding collaboration in education development, cultural preservation and scientific research. ALECSO officials briefed the Somali leadership on ongoing projects in the country and the organization’s engagement with local education institutions.

Speaker Sheikh Adan praised ALECSO’s role in supporting Somalia’s education system and safeguarding cultural heritage, calling for increased cooperation to improve education standards and promote research opportunities for young people.

The meeting underscored Somalia’s commitment to strengthening partnerships within the Arab world to advance knowledge, skills development and sustainable growth.
