Somalia mourns veteran journalist Abdirahman Yacqub
Somalia’s Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism has mourned the passing of veteran journalist Abdirahman Yaqub, a respected member of Somali National Television. Known for his work on Muuqaalka Dunida, Yacqub’s dedication to foreign affairs reporting made him a prominent figure in Somalia’s media community.
The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran journalist Abdirahman Yaqub, a longtime member of the Somali National Television team.
Minister Da’ud Aweys Jaama, Deputy Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Omar Al-Adaala, Director General Abdullahi Khayir Duale, department directors, and staff of the Ministry conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, and colleagues of the late journalist.
Abdirahman Yaqub had dedicated over a decade to Somali National Television, specializing in foreign affairs reporting and was well known for his work on the program Muuqaalka Dunida (World View). His professionalism and dedication made him a respected figure among Somalia’s media community.
Minister Daa’uud Aweys Jaamac extended personal condolences to Yacqub’s family and children, and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the late journalist, asking for patience and faith for all those mourning his loss.
The Ministry recognized Yaqub’s significant contribution to Somali media and described his passing as a great loss to the national press.
