Former President Farmaajo meets with the leaders of Puntland and Jubbaland in Mogadishu.

Former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo today held a greeting and consultative meeting with the Presidents of Puntland and Jubbaland, Said Abdullahi Deni and Ahmed Mohamed Islam, in Mogadishu.

The meeting focused on the current political situation in Somalia and the urgent need for genuine dialogue to overcome existing challenges. Farmaajo welcomed the arrival of the two regional leaders in the capital and encouraged efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement to prevent political uncertainty and security turmoil surrounding the elections and constitutional issues.

He commended the goodwill and commitment of both presidents towards achieving a durable and inclusive solution.

Farmaajo also called on the current president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, to show flexibility and provide leadership that can overcome the impasse and prevent a constitutional vacuum.

Finally, he urged that the political crisis should not distract from providing urgent humanitarian assistance to Somali citizens affected by the prolonged drought, encouraging immediate and effective actions to save lives.
