Vice President of Puntland Holds Key Meeting on Security and Reconciliation in Mudug Region

Garoowe- The Vice President of the Puntland State, Ilyas Osman Lugatoor, held a meeting on Sunday evening evening with government officials from the Mudug region to discuss key issues affecting the area.
The session was also attended by several members of the Puntland Cabinet.
The meeting focused on strengthening security, tackling the spread of narcotics, promoting reconciliation among local communities, and finding lasting solutions to recurring clan-related killings in Mudug.
Officials also discussed ways to accelerate development and improve public services in the region.
Vice President Lugatoor emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring peace and ensuring stability across all districts of Mudug.
He urged local leaders, traditional elders, and youth groups to actively participate in reconciliation and peacebuilding initiatives, stressing that lasting progress depends on unity and cooperation among all stakeholders.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance coordination between regional and central authorities in implementing concrete measures aimed at maintaining peace, boosting security operations, and driving sustainable development in Mudug.
