Tonight’s bulletin brings you three major developments from Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa. First, Somali security forces say more than 130 Al-Shabab militants were killed after a prolonged operation in the coastal town of Kudhaa in the Lower Juba region, following a coordinated attack by the group. Second, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has praised the Somali National Army’s Danab Special Forces and Jubbaland security units for their role in securing the town, highlighting improved coordination between federal and regional forces. And finally, in a significant regional move, Djibouti has revoked passports held by a large number of Somaliland officials and prominent figures, a decision analysts say could further strain diplomatic relations in the region. Those are the top stories in today’s broadcast. #somalia #breakingnews #somaliasecurity #hornofafrica
