Somalia’s Auditor General attends Arab forum on transparency and anti-corruption in Cairo
Somalia’s Auditor General, Ahmed Isse Gutale, participated in the Third Arab Forum for Enhancing Transparency and Combating Corruption, held in Cairo, Egypt, bringing together senior government officials, international organizations, and experts in governance and anti-corruption.
The high-level forum focused on the role of technology and digital transformation in strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance. Participants discussed how Arab states and global institutions can exchange experiences and best practices to develop innovative governance systems that promote openness and public trust.
In his address, Auditor General Gutale highlighted Somalia’s ongoing efforts to digitize its accountability mechanisms by leveraging technology to enhance transparency in public institutions. He underscored the importance of collaboration among Arab countries in building effective governance frameworks and restoring public confidence through modern digital tools.
Gutale noted that Somalia’s reform agenda aims to strengthen financial oversight, improve institutional integrity, and ensure that public resources are managed efficiently and transparently.
The forum, now in its third edition, serves as a key platform for Arab nations to share knowledge and explore digital solutions for promoting accountability and curbing corruption. Delegates reaffirmed their commitment to advancing collective efforts that foster good governance and sustainable development across the region.
