A reception was held in London on Monday night in honor of a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala, who is on an official working visit to the United Kingdom.

Members of the Somali community living in the UK gathered for the welcoming event, which also featured an open dialogue session. During the meeting, Deputy Minister Al-Adala briefed the community on the overall situation in Somalia and recent national developments.

He highlighted progress made in the state-building process, recent measures taken to safeguard Somalia’s unity, ongoing military operations to liberate areas from extremist groups, humanitarian response efforts for communities affected by drought, and the rollout of one-person, one-vote elections in parts of the country. He also outlined other achievements and the long-term vision of the DanQaran government.

The Deputy Minister praised the Somali diaspora in the UK for their continued support of the Somali people and government, acknowledging their contributions to humanitarian assistance and national development. He encouraged the community to further strengthen their engagement, particularly in supporting drought-affected populations and defending Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity.

He also called for collective action and solidarity in response to what he described as violations against Somalia’s unity and sovereignty, urging the diaspora to play an active role in advocacy and national cohesion.

The meeting underscored the importance of engagement between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Somali diaspora, highlighting the diaspora’s role as a key partner in peace-building, humanitarian support, and national development efforts.
