President Mohamud to hold talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim on security, economy, and regional cooperation.
The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is set to meet with senior leaders of the State of Qatar following his arrival in Doha last night.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, security, economic development, political coordination, and other matters of mutual interest between Mogadishu and Doha.
This visit marks the beginning of a series of diplomatic engagements by the Somali President aimed at enhancing partnerships with key international and regional allies.
Qatar remains one of Somalia’s closest partners in the region, consistently supporting Somalia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity. Doha has also provided assistance across multiple sectors, including security, economic development, and military training. Additionally, Qatar has voiced strong opposition to external interference that threatens Somalia’s national unity.
Officials from both countries said the meeting is expected to further deepen strategic ties, expand cooperation in trade and security, and advance shared regional interests.
President Mohamud’s visit reflects Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and promote stability, security, and economic growth for its citizens.
