Family and Human Rights Minister receives voter card in Shangani, urges public participation in local council elections
Minister Khadiija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi receives her voter card in Shangani, urging citizens to participate in the upcoming Local Council Elections.
The Minister of Family and Human Rights Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, Amb. Khadiija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, on Monday received her voter registration card in Shangani District of Banadir Region, where she had previously registered.
The Minister was accompanied by the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, and the State Minister for Education, MP Nuro Mustafa Muqtaar (Gudow).
Meanwhile, Minister Khadiija also conducted an inspection visit to Xamarweyne District in Banadir Region, where the voter card collection process is progressing smoothly. Residents are actively preparing for the upcoming Local Council Elections, scheduled to take place on the 25th of this month.
Addressing the public in both Shangani and Xamarweyne districts, the Minister encouraged citizens to actively participate in collecting their voter cards and to turn out in large numbers on Thursday to cast their votes at the designated polling stations.
She emphasized that this marks a historic moment for the country, coming 57 years later, as Somali citizens regain their democratic right to vote and freely choose the leaders they want.
